3 Major labels create joint venture with MySpace

April 4, 2008

myspace-music.jpgSocial networking site MySpace is set to launch a music download service from its website called MySpace Music.

Major labels Sony BMG, Universal and Warners have signed up for the venture but as yet EMI have not.

With the industry looking for more ways to stem the declining sales figures of late, this venture will create revenue via download sales, advertising and sales of concert tickets, merchandising and ringtones.

You will be allowed to listen to music and watch music videos for free; all of this will be made available on a MySpace Music home page.

As yet there are no prices published but all will be unveiled in the coming months. Stay tuned and we will keep you updated.
