Adele The latest Brit School Success
February 20, 2008
The Brit School is turning into the new Fame Academy with another successful graduate conquering the charts.
19 year old singer “Adele” is the latest to add her name to a number of success stories such as Leona Lewis, The Kooks, Amy Winehouse Kate Nash and others.
Adele has already been named by almost 150 of the UK’s most knowledgeable and influential music critics, editors and broadcasters as the BBC’s sound of 2008 and has already had a number one album and the Brits critics choice award all before the age of 20!
Adele has a refreshingly original yet powerful voice with wonderful lyrics, and has descibed herself as gobby and considers herself as quite normal obsessed with celebrity magazines although she doesn’t necessarily want to be one. She has a long list of artist that she credits as influences people like Etta James, Jill Scott, Karen Dalton, Carole King, Ella Fitzgerald, Roberta Flack, Cyndi Lauper, Lauryn Hill, Jeff Buckley, Noisettes, Eva Cassidy, Billy Bragg, Alicia Keys, The Cranberries, Amy Winehouse, Jamie T, Suzanne Vega, Destiny’s Child, The Cure, Paul Weller and Erykah Badu.
We believe she has successfully taken a little from each of these people and created something of her own.
Adele Croydon salutes you!
