Alcohol hits royalties!
April 30, 2009
In our quest to keep you informed with all the latest news relating to all things musical, we happened to come across this gem, so we thought we’d share it with you.
The PRS the UK collections society has stated that in most areas music revenue has grown with the internet showing the most significant growth (barring You Tube as they fell out massively recently, hence the removal of most major label video releases). One specific area has show a notable downturn.
Revenue collected from pubs and clubs has decreased, as alcohol prices have increased and no doubt with the smoking ban in place more drinkers are chosing to stay home and drink (no doubt with the cheap beer they can get from ASDA and co).
