March 12, 2008
The line up for Croydons music showcase “Croydon Live” has grown!
Having been able to secure the Nu Classic Soul pioneer Omar we have increased the line up to include Testing 123 winners Cellar Door, Gospel Choir extraordinaire IDMC and Opera singer James Edwards.
Cellar Door
Acoustic duo Aimee Grinter and the excellent guitarist Mike Brown won the Croydon Talent search Testing 123 but do not be fooled this band are more than just local talent. Croydon has produced its fair share of talent that has gone on to mainstream success and this duo will no doubt do the same.
IDMC Gospel Choir
This choir led by Croydon resident John Fisher is one of the premier choirs in the UK. Known for their uplifting songs and electric performances have been requested by many A-list celebrities having sung at the weddings of the late great Pavarotti, and Chelsea captain John Terry, they have also been request to sing for people such as Geri Halliwell (Christening), Emma Thompson, Anita Rodick(memorial) and more.
James Edwards
Local opera singer James Edwards featured on our profiles page is an immense talent I was blown away when I heard his voice, well having had lessons from Pavarotti and Domingo I guess you would be quite good. James has sung at the wedding of Charles and Diana and also on films such as The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter.
We have a wealth of talent in Croydon and I am pleased to be able to showcase this talent we hope to see you there on the 14th there will be an announcement on the tickets very soon and I am sure you will be pleased when you receive the news.
