UK Nu Classic Soul pioneer Omar will headline the first “Croydon Live” music showcase on April 14th at The Croydon Clocktower.
Here at Croydon Music we are excited to have the UK soul don who has worked with some of the worlds greatest music stars and has been cited as the founder of Nu Classic Soul. Stars such as D’Angelo, Maxwell, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu, India Arie and even Stevie Wonder have said Omar has been a major influence on their music and many have collaborated with Omar on various songs,
Known for the eternal classic hit “There’s nothing like this”, Omar started his career on his fathers record label Kongo Records and charted with his first album with minimal promotion. After brief encounters with major record labels Omar continues to record and tour successfully and attract attention from the worlds most celebrated artists such as Stevie Wonder who got in touch after hearing Omars music. Omar is also a Croydon resident.
We will be posting more information on “Croydon Live” including ticketing information and artists that will be added to the line up so keep tuning in to CroydonMusic.co.uk for more information.
